Michael Duffy is Lecturer in Film and Media Studies at Towson University, USA, where among other things he teaches special effects history and theory. He is the co-editor with Bob Rehak and Dan North of  Special Effects: New Histories, Theories, Contexts (BFI-Palgrave, 2015), and his essays have appeared in numerous anthologies, including Volumes I and II of Directory of World Cinema: American Hollywood (2011, 2015).
