Kristian Robinson is a PhD candidate from The University of Exeter. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor's (Honours) in History, a Master's in English from Wilfrid Laurier University, and a Bachelor's of Education from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. His current doctoral thesis, In Effect: Special Effects Production and Labour in Fantasy and Science Fiction Cinema investigates creative agency, independence and authorship as it relates to the pre-digital special effects industry of the late 1970s and 1980s. Kristian continues to maintain an interest in the stop motion contributions of Ray Harryhausen, Jim Danforth, and Nick Park with upcoming plans to investigate these SFX pioneers at a later date.
